VILLAGE OF NASSAU ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING A Public Hearing of the Zoning Board of Appeals will be held on March 25, 2019 at 7:00 pm at the Village Municipal Building to discuss variance requests for the following applications:

Application #2-2018 for Joe Hallenback, 16 Maple Lane, Nassau NY 12123, for a Use Variance for a commercial business at the existing property in a residential zone.

Application #1-2019 for William J. Romer, 25 McClellan Rd., Nassau NY 12123, for a change of Use Variance for a retail/commercial business at that location.

NOTICE OF ADOPTION

NOTICE OF ADOPTION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, the following Local Laws were passed by the Village Board of Trustees of the Village of Nassau, New York on January 9, 2019 and accepted with the Secretary of State as of January 17, 2019.

Local Law #1-2019- Amending Chapter 22 of the Nassau Village Code, Relating to powers of the Planning Board.

Local Law #2-2019- Amending Chapter 42-5.1 of the Nassau Village Code, Relating to demolition permits.

Local Law #3-2019- Amending Chapter 44 of the Nassau Village Code, Relating to vacant, unsafe, deteriorated buildings and properties.

Local Law #4-2019- Amending Chapter 87 of the Nassau Village Code, Relating to property management.

VILLAGE OF NASSAU SNOW EMERGENCY

NOTICE

VILLAGE OF NASSAU RESIDENTS

In anticipation of significant snow amounts, the Village of Nassau has declare a Snow Emergency effective 4:00pm Saturday, January 19, 2019 to

10:00 pm Sunday, January 20, 2019

The Snow Emergency requires that all motor vehicles be removed from village streets.

Vehicles must remain parked off village streets until the snow emergency is over.

 NOTICE IS

HEREBY GIVEN THAT,

Local Law No. 2 of the year 2018

Village of Nassau, County of Rensselaer

                A LOCAL LAW AMENDING §111-8 OF THE NASSAU CODE, TO PROVIDE FOR A 25 MILE PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT ON VILLAGE STREETS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE VILLAGE BOARD OF THE VILLAGE OF NASSAU AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1 – §111-8 of the Nassau Code is repealed.

Section 2 – A new §111-8 of the Nassau Code is enacted as follows:

The maximum speed at which a vehicle may proceed on or along Village streets within the Village is hereby established at 25 miles per hour. This provision shall apply to the following such streets within the Village:

 

Alter Alley Way

Elm Street

Fairground Street

Fairview Avenue

Griswold Street

Howard Street

John Street

Kaunameek Street
Kosey Street

Lake Avenue

Malden Street

Maple Avenue

Mear Street

McClellan Drive

Park Avenue

Phillips Street

Tremont Drive

Westbrook Drive

 

Section 3 – This local law shall take effect on February 1, 2019

The Nassau Fire Department will be conducting a Water Operation Drill on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 in the Tremont Drive and Phillips Street development from 7:00pm – 10:00pm

 Please take precautions with laundry etc. as this operation may result in discolored water for a short period after the drill
